Best finance deal for buying a new or nearly one?
Just wondered if anyone can recommend a company for a good deal!

If I bought one I would put it through my business. I'm not sure whether to buy a new or nearly new one and what type of finance package is best. Sometimes it seems that buying outright is not always the best option. I will do about 10,000 miles in it a year and I am not VAT registered but that could change! Thanks

well you definitely want to be vat registered as you will be looking at the thick end of 4 grand you will be getting back. Not to mention you can claim fuel etc AS LONG as its a commercial.

You can always contract hire one if you don't want to put down any capital, all tax deductible.

Same rules apply whether its new or second hand.

You can only claim vat on the business use, i.e. 50% Business use 50% of the Vat back, it's up to you to self declare the amount Whistle just keep good records to back this up if you need too Thumbs Up Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

Certainly did yesterday when I checked with the Vat office Shocked N1 vehicle. Tax position is easy. if you are a 40% tax payer then 40% of £3000, free fuel (fuel card etc)= 40% of £500, and lets not forget 12.8% of £3000 in NI contributions payed by company. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

yeah i said the drivers position was diff, we were talking VAT though which is 100%.

If your paying 40% tax I'd suggest sacking your accountant mate.

Definately considering it Pom, seems like everythings a fight with them Thumbs Up I'll get back on to the Vat and double check, but basically they and there website say any personal use of van you can't claim 100% vat, up to the individual wether you declare personal use or not I suppose. Mines a bit suspect cause I only use it to travel from my Office ( home ) to worksites no carriage of goods. Next thing is find a Utility registered after april 09 that isn't a ridiculous price Big Cry Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

Thanks for the replies. The people I have spoken to so far go through brokers or have separate finance deals other than the deal that LR offer. Rates have got to be pretty good at the moment, just wondered if anyone can recommend a company.........I can do a search in the meantime!

You will always get a much better finance deal on a brand new Defender compared to a pre-reg or used example as a one owner car is easier to trade between finance houses and dealers. I bought a pre-reg Discovery with 90m on the clock and if one had been available split new i could have had it for much less BLR. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

One nice thing with Landrover is that they will soon offer a sort of variable repayment scheme like what they have in Europe. So if you were using it for business and got a bit of a windfall you could pay it into what you owe. I am not sure if then reduces all your sebsequent payments, or just the number of repayments, or what.

Deal are there to be had direct from you Landrover dealer if you talk to them... 2011 110 USW
