It does look like a rebodied TACR2 range rover - 30 years ago my first day as a 16 year old apprentice coachbuilder was spent stripping a brand new Range Rover and chopping the chassis through behind the rear axle to make a TACR2, makes me feel old!

The majority of them were 4wd and the 3rd used as just an extra rear axle to carry the weight of the water/ foam for fire fighting. Some were converted to 6wd for grass runways though- one of them with a double cab body (extended load bed) would be awesome off-road. Glyn ![]() |

Here is a genuine 6x6 Defender:
