Something similar to this?
Personally I think an Orange tdi will always be more G4 than adventure, but I suppose with a tdci bonnet and sawtooth alloys it's not far off. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Yes something like that is exactly what I'm thinking! you're probably right it is more g4 than adventure, it'll have a td5 bonnet and wolf wheels after all! A local paint supplier has a deal on for RAL 2004 orange which should hopefully be just the ticket!

A quick google for RAL2004 shows a wide range of shades, but i think its a good shade.

Wow there are quite a few RAL 2004s! I'm hoping it's nearer the G4 orange, I like the santorini black, not sure my spraying skills would be up to it though! I do like the look of that double cab... definitely black spats and roof, could even do a black bonnet or would that look a bit off?

An orange Defender will always be associated with a G4 as touched on above. Anything else will be tagged as a G4 wannabee IMHO. If that's your aim you're on to a winner!
If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

RAL2004, should be RAL2004, but as with any paint colour it will never show correctly due to differences in display settings. Does emphasis the need to see the colour in the flesh first.
Black bonnets are ok in my book, albeit a little 70's rally car, but the one I don't get is the black rear door on the adventure Click image to enlarge 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Glad everyone is behind me on the colour! Would white wolf wheels look atrocious? They're green at the moment so will need painting either way....

Personally I don't think white wheels sit as well if your going down the route of black detailing, but it all depends on the look your trying to achieve.
Original G4's had standard boost alloys Click image to enlarge But the support vehicles had white wolfs 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

The orange paint arrived at the end of last week, it's not far off G4 orange which is nice! Saw a very nice G4 at newbury on sunday which has convinced me that black bonnet, roof and standard (non-gloss) black wheel arch spats will be enough black. Also treated myself to some CSW sides with the sliding windows and external window guards as the series van panels I had planned to use would have ruined the look.
I think white Wolf wheels will be the way to go for now as black ones look naff IMO. Photos to come as the paint goes on over the next few weeks. |
