I must admit that it's years since I used a slide hammer and then only on some large farm bodgenering. I know that LR have a slide hammer set up to remove the Td5 injectors but after doing the job a few times now I'd still be wary of using a slider that was a universal one as there's not a lot of purchase room under the injector and I prefer to be able to "feel" that the pry bar/long allen key is in the right place before any pressure is applied. With the solonoid and delicate electrickery gubbins on the side of the injector I could see a tearful outcome if you get things wrong.

The LR slider is fab just works, makes the job silly simple. As a matter of course I now change the seals every 18 months or so and the slider is a highly valued part of my tool kit.
If you plan to keep the TD5 just invest in the tool it will pay you back in time. |

Hi Landybear. I bought mine from Dingo croft. They are relatively expensive at £120 but it is a tool for life and does make the job super easy. Like I said previously I consider the o-rings and washers to be service items and replace them semi regularly so the tool gets used and travels with me on long trips in the tool kit. It breaks down to quite a small volume and easily stored in the service box.

Thats great many thanks. I like to have the correct tools for the job rather than just making do as from experience something either gets damaged or it takes 10 times as long to do whilst trying to find something to use.

I agree completely. When you come to do the job this is a good guide;
