I suppose on Q1 the answer would be yes, in that bar a very few items, almost everything in cars these days is not actually made by the brand but by a third party supplier. So if LR find a different supplier able to make identical STs for less money, but still charge the same to the client, then they would I suppose, because that's a little extra cash in hand, on a car we know made very little profit, some would say loss. And the moment it is stuck on a Defender at Solihull or a dealer it becomes 'genuine' and anything else a copy, which is nonsense really.
As far as the second is concerned, I suppose speak to Britpart or look at their site and see what they charge for the STs. Urban, who I think always do nice kit and at a fair price, do their 16" STs for £99 per wheel, and their 18" variant for £145. In my opinion alloy wheels shouldn't charge as much as they often do (Bowler at £1800 for five - £360 each being a case in point). But if you're worried because they're off FB, try a reusable supplier like URban for much the same money, but with added piece of mind. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

I was going to ask if you had seen this thread (and the longer one referred to in it) but I notice that you made the 4th post on it... http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40938.html

Grenadier you make a good point, I would of thought since they are franchises they would only be allowed to supply products from LR so that LR get all the money.
