Help please Td5
Hi all

I spotted a drip under my 2002 Td5 dripping off bell housing onto floor, I rushed round all the fluid reservoirs only to find no liquids missing Question
I dried it all up underneath and put some card on the floor, started up and it started dripping again Question Question , caught some in a pot and found it to be diesel Big Cry
I took the engine sound proofing cover off and saw a drip from round the back of the engine, I took a pic from offside looking over wing and have put an arrow from where the drip is coming from [it's behind round thing]

Any idea's please as I know nothing about these engines other than changing the oil/filters etc.

Many thanks

Brian

Wow that was quick! many thanks for that

May I now ask, is it something that needs tightening up or replacing and is it hard to do? [I can't even see it Embarassed ]

Cheers

You can see it Brian it's just to the right of the green arrow on your picture, with 3 pipes and an electrical connection. 3 x10mm headed bolts holding it on. Me personally, I use the £30 rebuild kits off eBay and have had 100% success with rebuilding them. Some people prefer to chuck a whole unit on for about £120......

Nothing wrong with the kits. I'm not tight either but hate waste and I can't see the point of scrapping £100 worth of housing that there's nothing wrong with.

A socket set with a 10mm socket and a pair of circlip pliers. Oh and a spanner to undo the return hose if yours is 2002>

Many thanks, will give it a go next day off [not dangerous using with a drip is it?]

Kit's seem to start from as little as a tenner, does that sound right?

Some kits are just a load of 'o' ring seals and a gasket. Look for one that has the little round regulator as well as 100% that's what's leaking
