No, the jet part that popped off can be bought seperately and with a bit of WD40 and a sharp tap can be clicked back on. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

I've bought a replacement but can't get the end off is there a special way to do it or just more force?

You have bought the complete unit. The nozzle part can be bought seperately.
If you grip the pipe part in a vice the nozzle can be levered off with two meaty screwdrivers but in doing so you are fitting an inferior part that may not remain in place as long. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..
