Just a thought - I realised that I hadn't updated my insurance with Hastings to include my snorkel so I called them. Hastings don't cover snorkels so I have 7 days to get new insurance... Thought I'd let you know...

Any recommendations on insurance company?

Wow why would a snorkel have anything to do with your insurance. I left the UK befour I could drive so don't know much about UK insurance so exuse my ignorance.

Most things add a "risk" factor to the vehicle/owner. Usually just because its different and the insurers cant determine what risk it might pose.

If in doubt declare all mods and see what the insurers say.

Luckily, I have insured my D90 with NFU for the last 14 years and they seem happy with my declarations, including a raised air intake/snorkel.

cheers

Yeah they said it was high risk... Crazy really but I can see many people killing their cars as they wade in water because they have a snorkel, especially with all these floods in recent years, as an off road exclusion wouldn't have stopped it.

My insurance told me fitting a snorkel is an 'off road' modification, and therefore increased the premium! Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....

Haha Rolling with laughter they work in the car insurance industry, yet I'm pretty sure if it isn't pink or red or blue then they can't tell the difference
