Yup, as Ibexman said,breather return.

Thanks for the replies, if it's something that is going to happen 'regularly', I think I'll order one from Dan and just change it over, keep the other as a spare once I've cleaned it out. Cheers

Hi All, mine is in a similar gunky mess on the outside, just looking for some advice from the engine guru's . Can the valve fail internally and create the oily residue on the outside? Are there any symptoms if one fails? Should they be replaced at any stage in the engines life? Mine has 82k on the clock and I'm sure it's not been replaced before. Thanks Andy
