Hiya Glynparry25
Merry Christmas and a happy 2011 to you. Oh yea, Cyprus is definitely an off roaders paradise. The CYLROC (Cyprus Land Rover Owners Club) is just one of many here that arrange off roading days / events all year round that i have participated in many times with my Disco 3. You have to realize that out here a Disco 3 is really rare and quite expensive, at least twice what it would cost in the UK, so turning up in one for an off road day is a bit of a novelty to the regulars. Here is quite a funny post i made on a Spanish forum about my first off road encounter with the CYLROC scroll down past the Spanish to my post and click on the image to get a visual idea of the situation http://www.discotr.es/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1502 Of course having been quickly accepted, i have done other events such as this http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic47424.html?highlight= My advice is to either go to Troodos mountains including Mount Olympus or the Akamas peninsula. |

Hi,
My apologies if this a newb question but I'm trying to see the point of these devices. As far as I can tell from the website info and FAQs these are simply a diagnostic tool that gives you a whole heap of numbers about the engine performance. I can understand the reasons for a remap tuning and upgraded intercooler but why do you need to know these numbers and does the device actually do anything? Cheers Jim |

Not in the same league as nanocom. Nanocom does let you control the systems, reprogramme and see inputs and outputs as well as resetting faults. Mike |

Thanks 110 John
You will be pleased to know that things are actually about to get a whole lot better As some may know, when we took over the Nanocom, it already had coverage of TD5 and Puma Defenders. We have since spent a lot of time and effort re working the hardware, debugging the software, improving the documentation, providing a dedicated support forum and a few months ago producing a whole new web site at Nanocom-diagnostics.com. In addition, just before last Christmas we have started adding new and very advanced functionality based coverage for Land Rovers CAN BUS based vehicle systems. In our next software update to be released within the week, this new CAN BUS based functionality will be extended to also include the CAN BUS modules on all Defenders. This will include the 2.4 and 2.2 Engine management systems, the instrument Pack and the later Bosch ABS system. If you are already licenced for the Puma Defender this new coverage will be freely added to your existing coverage and capability. In addition we have now also re worked all existing coverage to now be fully compatible with the later 2.2 Engine management ECU. Warmest regards Colin |
