Anyone got Mantec rear cages inside?
I like the look of these:

http://www.flatdoguk.com/defender-load-lugger~749

I'm only interested in the lower side baskets and the lower shelf.

They would help me organise my shooting gear and make the back a bit tidier but I am wondering if they fit when a genuine dog guard is fitted, or if carpets and mats also prevent them fitting. Also, would they fit the rear wheel arches that are shaped for the CSW seats as mine are removed, and only fit standard box section arches.

Anyone got them and can show photos? 2016 D4 HSE

I have the side cages and genuine dog guard fitted in my TD5 110 so am sure they will fit together in a newer one. I also have a genuine ruber rear load mat which I bolted the side cages through. You'll either have to do the same or cut the mat.

I'm not sure what the work around on the puma wheel box arches will be.

No photos on my phone sorry. Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful!

On the side cages yes mate. From memory, around 8-10 small bolts per side I think.

They're a 'L' shape and really easy to fit. I wouldn't be with out mine now, stops 'stuff' falling onto the dog. Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful!

Hi,

I have these on my station wagon, I also took the rear most seats out to gain the space.

There are two types to suit the different wheel arch styles, the ones for the puma have the stepped shape cut into the end plates, fit a treat........

I fitted mine over the top of silent coat sound proofing and an Exmoor trim carpet set with no trouble.

One word of advise would be that when positioning be aware of the extra bracing the station wagons have for the rear seats up under the wheel arch as the holes you drill can emerge in awkward spots. Defender Puma 110XS SW

I have the cages fitted too and as Defender2014 says, pay very careful attention to where the bolts are drilled through the tub on the puma - a case of lots of measuring before drilling the first hole because after that, you're committed to drilling the others in predefined locations. Also remember that if you have carpet fitted that the rear speaker panels extend under the carpet by a couple of inches so leave enough room to remove those panels without having to remove the cages as well. Instructions are provided but no measurements are indicated so you're on your own.

Be aware that it's not just the steel panels under the tub, but also the reinforcement braces that run from the rear crossmember to under the tub - but I believe that's only an issue if you've previously had the third row seats installed before.

I fixed the ends first - four bolts in total - and then found that it was all so rigid that the intermediate bolts weren't needed. That not only saves some drilling, but also means less chance for water ingress. Once it was all done I recoated the underside of the tub with more Dinitrol, making sure the new bolts got a good dollop to protect and waterproof them.

I've found the cages really, really useful - one of the best all-round additions so far. It's the Defender equivalent of a man drawer... Thumbs Up Dave
