may be cranking delay your battery problems, control of the glow plugs works between battery volts and engine temp on starting of the engine, had similar problem with one mine i no they are td5 but I think control logic is similar

It was the battery, been on 4 24 hours, still not fully charged yet. But does crank with no delay.

Wasn't the battery, just chance it started that 1 more time.

I have a fully charged battery.
Click of the relay under the driver's seat.
Usually a click at the starter and sometimes the sound of engagement - but never turns over.

So my thoughts are the starter - how to get at it with a hammer? Not sure I can get at it!

Change it as i said earlier and by someone that knows what they're doing. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..
