Not exactly a Defender but close ! !
Thought you might be intersted in this tough looking truck I spotted in a shipyard a long way away from the UK . . I think the whole thing's made out of welded up 5mm steel plate . . . . must weigh a ton and I certainly wouldn't want to argue with it !

Afraid I can't offer any info of whats under the bonnet . . . other than it sounded and smelt like a diesel and appears to have a top speed of about 20mph ! . . .

But an unusual looking jeep . . . so thought you might be interested ! !

Thumbs Up

Normal vehicles have a very short life span in a shipyard !

Seen cars written off driving into bollards.

One incident a rep on a mobile drove over a steel plate it kicked up - under the drivers floor pan pushing the seat up and forcing his head into the roof... he was found wandering around dazed ..but car looked alright.

That's before they roll off the berth into the water.

Something about that rear axle and the wheels makes me think dump truck or forklift of some sort?

Once saw a bus and a pair of jeeps with almost exact replica bodies made from plywood on one of the more remote Cook Islands. Didn't get a close up of the jeeps, but rode in the bus as it was used to transport us from the airport.
Seems the original steel bodies had long rusted away in the salt air, so precision crafted wood bodies were built to replace them. The jeeps looked a little like the 5mm plate one in the post above.
