BFG wheel balancing
Hi,

Just had some BFG 265/75 16 KO2s fitted to genuine dual finish alloys on a MY15 90 XS. Tyre fitter was shocked that he had to add 300-400 grams to each wheel when he got around to re-balancing them. I also found this adjustment to be quite excessive and wondered if any other owners running these tyres had balancing issues? Thanks

Dynamic balancing beads negate the requirement for any weights at all and can be used time and time again. I use them on my 305/70/16 KM2s. There are those that will say a decent tyre fitter with the time and inclination......etc. etc. but many have neither as they are in the business to make money.

These are some of the zinc weights off my old set. They turn black don't stick very well after time and can tarnish the rim.

Glad you mentioned them, where did you get the ones you use from as there seems to be a few out there and some seem to be Censored

I had some a long time ago and used them on a wheel I replaced the tyre on in the middle of nowhere! I know it made my long trip back a lot smoother Exclamation

Mixed reviews but see this thread here. Read carefully as dependent on where you source recommended weight of beads for size of tyre can vary. Most issues IMHO are caused by not enough beads.

Rolling with laughter I didn't notice the web address on the photo either. I phoned them and they were very helpful. One of the conflicting charts was the Devon 4x4 chart that didn't tally with the Dynabead one, recommending lighter amounts by up to 1oz and 27 grammes per wheel for my size if memory serves me correctly? I ended up paying a little more and went to a specialist rather than a retailer of the product amongst many other products. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
