Can anyone enlighten me as to what these pipes used to be connected to ?
Passenger side of my TD5 engine bay Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge And while we're in mystery solving mode, what about these two thin plastic pipes (wire ? ) on the drivers side ? Click image to enlarge They seem to connect to this device on the inner wing ( drivers side ) Click image to enlarge Cheers  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

The EGR pipes are just vacuum, you can take them out and plug the inlet on the solenoid. That was prettu shoddy workmanship. If you are going to remove a component, like the EGR remove it. The AC compressor has been removed but the pipework is very hrad and cumbersome to take out.
You put a plug on the solenoid like this. Click image to enlarge Your EGR removal pipe should look like is. No hoses or wires dangling about. If the compressor is the only component missing from the AC you likely just need to replace it and charge the system..
