As far as I'm aware there hasn't been any reports of failed sawtooth style wheels although one company seemed to be doing some scare mongering, so I don't think failure is an issue. Personally I prefer the look of sawtooths (my mrs's dc has them) so at some point I'm thinking I'll go for a set of the 18" version Ray

I think you could buy the Defender from new with either 235 or 265 tyre's Mine did have 235/85 R16 but when I had the wheels powder coated I put 265/75 R16 on They are slightly lower side wall and a bit wider!! I checked out lots of tyre's and the BF Goodrich K02 came out tops both for looks (IMHO) and lifespan both on and off road. Despite the big tread pattern there is no extra road noise I'd recommend them 2010 Defender 90 HT The longer I live..... The better I was! |

Maybe against the grain, I actually prefer the black boosts over the blingos?
But then Sawtooth for me, on continental 235/85/16 The Painted Boosts do look nice, how about painted santorini same as the car will save a few quid just getting 4 done and a cover on the 5th Click image to enlarge |

I'm biased but Black sawtooths all the way - as stated the copy vs. real has been quibbled about to death - do your research and you will find the right answered.
If you buy sawtooths and sell the boosts it comes in the same price as a refurb or colour change... Click image to enlarge |

They look great. If I could afford genuine sawtooths I would go for them like a shot. But as we use the 110 mainly for long motorway trips through france I would always be worrying if I had bought copies as we trundled along at 80mph. ---------------------------------------------------------------

Buy a set of replicas from a tried and trusted supplier, odds are they are tested to the same standards as genuine. you'll find badly balanced wheels, unevenly worn tyres and incorrect tyre pressures are much more likely to cause you problems than the rims alone |
