Can someone tell me where dim dip relay is on my TD5 90 2004? I have fitted led headlights, and dip lights are on when you turn the light switch on, I would like to just run side lights as I have fitted running lights, I only want the headlights to come on in the second position of the h/light switch. Many thanks for any help...[/b] Hard working recovery driver.

Welcome to the site
![]() See http://www.defender2.net/forum/post473903.html#473903 The dim-dip relay is behind the instrument pack, and would require removing and bridging from pin 2 to pin 8 in the socket. The relay is pink in colour ![]() Martin ![]() ![]() |

Ok, thanks very much, I will look at that in the morning. Seems like when you fit led head lights they don't go dim, so have to switch it all the way. Many thanks again. Hard working recovery driver.

On a RHD Puma it is on the wing under the bonnet near the brake booster. On the left as you look into the the engine bay.
LHD lighting looms might be mirrored so check on the opposite wing near the brake booster - right hand side as you look in. ![]() ![]() |

It's the large Pink relay, above the fuses -

Paul has it moved at some point in Puma production as I'm sure it has been said to have been on the wing?

Martin, it's the dim/dip resistor that's mounted to the o/s inner wing -

To remove dim/dip, you can bridge the contacts in the dim/dip relay base (C0048) - ![]() Or, if you want to do it the way Land Rover do it, use the dim/dip by-pass dummy relay YWZ10003L - ![]() Click image to enlarge . Better to bridge the pink relay as Paul shows above.

Just unplug the resistor. Nothing else is needed.

Well this is the view under the column on my LHD version. ![]() Click image to enlarge The big pink one is the wiper relay as proven when bridged. The resistor also seems to be hidden away somewhere. Its not obvious to see under the wings. I thought it would be around where the arial is on drivers side. Maybe I need to dig under the heater intake which fills the passenger side wing. Time for a beer. :thud: Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() |
