There is so more discussion on this topic here. I returned from the Alps in January with Trucklites fitted and without any deflectors and had no issues to report. I am sure I found something on an RAC or AA page stating you don't need them but cant find it right now.

I think it maybe a legal requirement.
I bought a pack of 'deflectors' years ago and never fit them, never had anyone flash when driving at night. They just stay in the car in case. Some cars have a lever or switch you can convert them with, too be honest not sure anyone bothers these days, black insulation take cut would do the same thing if needed, As above though never has any issues leaving as they are. |

Yes the law is that you do not dazzle oncoming traffic.
Your headlights must dip to the nearside of the road where your car is registered to. So as long as headlights are correctly adjusted you should not have any real issue. If heavily laden you might want to use the headlight adjuster switch. Brendan |

On all the new land rovers they are flat beamed so dont need to be adjusted (i think they levers were 2012 and earlier). But any car that doesnt have that still needs to be adjusted - we stick them on the motorhome everytime we go to europe - its light guards have beam deflector marks on them already Mike
