Sweet...

For new tyres there are a lot of weights on those wheels...

That's exactly the set-up i'm going to use. Currently gathering Wolf wheels of the correct type.

I used to have the previous BFG AT tyres which were great and hard wearing. Glad to hear that these are even better!

I'm also interested as to why you chose the standard 235/85 size when so many go up to 255 and 275 width. Personally I am going to use 235/85 because I don't believe that wider is necessarily better.

Cosmetically your vehicle would look a 100% better if you painted those silver balance weights on your wheels black to match the wheel rims? Those silver weights just draw the viewers eye vfor the 'wrong' reasons.

Thanks for the response!

After a few days driving with the new tires there is not much difference compared to the old AT's. Sometimes it looks the ride is a bit softer but I am not sure. There was a lot of rain over here (not at much as in the UK) and I drove in deep mud a lot: traction is perfect.

I have been thinking about wider tires but this size has done the job for years without any problems and for fuel consumption & noise I think these are best. They also add a "traditional look" to the Defender.

Painting the silver balance weights is the next thing to do! Wink 2021 Defender 110 D300 HSE

The next thing to do is take the truck back to the tyre depot and rebalance the Front Drivers side the balance position is just plain lazy Banging Head

Yes that and the fact the tyre appears to be balanced in two separate fields (looks like 2 x 30g/35g then a 10g further round) its a bugbear of mine
