Thnaks for your help- 1st time defender owner- had it a month and thoroughly enchanted by the experience- cannot imagine life without one from now on. Particular favourites are the steering column stalks and some instumentation which are the same as my first car a beige 1982 mini metro!

Hi Markp, The LR GPS mount is for the Garmin Nuvi 700 series and was an option on the SVX only! The ball-head mount itself can be purchased separately, (red circled part in image below) but if you want any of the other components, you would have to by the complete kit, and they are in the region of £600+!! As far as I am aware, they can only be purchased from main dealers, and you will need the VIN of an SVX, as they are restricting sales of some SVX accessories. However, for me it was worth the hassle, as I am very pleased with the finished install (second image). I only purchased the ball-head mount as I already had a Garmin Nuvi 765T, I then purchased a Garmin VIB11 integration box, which allowed me to wire the GPS into the stereo, which mutes the stereo and outputs the GPS directional audio to the stereo speakers. I have also installed an external GPS antenna, as I found that the heated front screen interfered with the GPS signal and reduced its accuracy quite a lot, with the external antenna I am getting accuracy of 4 to 5 foot! Installed a rear view camera myself and absolutely love it, mounted above the rear door, about 170 degree viewing angle, can see over top of trees and down to the brake lights, only the spare wheel obscures the middle view but you soon get used to that... Parts about £100.00

Here's a couple of photos of my reversing camera setup, I have mine permanently on as it's a decent rear view when the back is fully loaded. They can of course be wired to only power up when reverse is engaged.
