It's no wonder that that tilt looked so dreadful in the final photos, since it is clear that it hasn't even beed fitted properly (compare the left and right hoodsticks in the photo above).
I still cannot understand either why, if you are fitting a proper canvas tilt instead of the dreadful plastic things that became standard, you would fit one with the ridiculous narrow rear curtain with zippers, not a proper wide curtain with the side flaps as used on Series vehicles. The design of the tilt on recent vehicles was a very retrograde step. |

I really like it although I hope I get mine fitted a lot better than that.
I've never had a soft top defender & as its not my main car & will fit in the garage I decide when Matt was selling his I would do the conversion. 2020 P300 HSE |

Been a while since I had my last soft top, but I don't remember having those straps going forward from the rear hoop? !
Is it just necessary for zipped flap? |

Looks like the conversion has already been done - isn't that a canvas roof already:

The funny thing is that someone at my dealers has spent £1600 putting air con in one, It would have been cheaper to convert to canvas 1998 90 50th Anniversary 4.0 V8

Does anyone know the height of a full canvas 90 with standard tyres and suspension? I heard they are taller than a 90 Hard Top but cant see why they would be.

Original canvas is the way to go. My daily drive is my 90 soft top and it's great when I knock off at midday, the sun is out and I can roll up the canvas. Then I get to drive home enjoying the fresh air you can only get from a commute out of B'ham city centre Fixing Land Rovers for over 25 years..........and making excuses to the wife for almost as long
