United Kingdom 2015 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Santorini Black
With hindsight it would have made it a lot easier if the Wilks had started production on 1st January 1948 and Tata had stopped it on 31st December 2015. Then we'd have to find something else to disagree on. Defender 90XS SW

They started production in March 1948, which is less than half the year, so shall we now say they were made from 1947?
Or should we only count full years and say 1949?

OR SHOULD WE JUST USE THE ACTUAL DATES!

i think you have just made my point without know it Thumbs Up

Was Solihull not in Warwickshire up until 1974 and therefore appropriate at the time the vehicles were made?

this one is a little more difficult

Solihull's move from Warwickshire to West Mids County Council and then to the West Mids Conurbation is one such issue (all before the 90's and defender's) but after the Solihull England it went to Solihull Birmingham for a while (which Solihull was never), so it depends a little on what the badge is on and what badge and when...but put it on a defender now and it was never in Warwickshire.

finally finally on dates, the defender probably died 2 years ago, but died in 2015...part of it death is built in the same argument we arent having over 3 weeks of production because they didnt get it done by christmas.

The defender died in 2015 Mike

Ok, just to clarify part number LR069120 is without holes and for the adventure model and LR069121 is with holes for riveting and correct for the heritage? Right?

I was back at the dealer yesterday collecting some mats.

Took the opportunity to nip into the parts department to see if I could order a replacement dash badge, for my "broken" one. At one point, three of the parts chaps were trying to establish the part number, on mobile phones and on the parts database. After 25 minutes or so, it could not be established so one of them said he would email land rover and phone me. Still waiting to hear from them.

What they did establish was that the wee metal diff lock plate was over £100! We wondered if this included the land rover oval badge, but it wasn't clear.

I had to provide a chassis number during the enquiry.

Bought the new overland enameled mugs whilst I was there though.

The badge is wrong, how can people say that the defender wasn't built in 2016, and if was built in 2016 then the badge is wrong. I am sure I seen somewhere on the news that the last defender was built on the 29 /1/16.

It would seem that people with 2015 defenders are most confused on the end of production date.

Thumbs Up

We will get there..... eventually👍 You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
