I like the 1948-2015 badge, it fits when they stopped making the car, when my car was made etc etc and is special...there just isnt/wasnt enough of 2016 (3 weeks) to count it as 2016 so 2015 is accurate in my eyes.
That said its almost as incorrect as having Solihull Warwickshire on a badge or worse Solihull Birmingham, Solihull hasnt been in Warwickshire for 40+ years and was never in Birmingham. ![]() ![]() |

You're working hard to justify the 2015
![]() 29th January - 3 weeks? On earth you divide by 7 for a week - what planet are you on? ![]() |

Weather its three weeks, four weeks or one day, the fact is production stopped in 2016 so the badges are wrong

they restarted on the 4th Jan at the earliest, ended a few days before the last one finished off the line before the end of jan SO...there were only 3.5 max weeks of full production (not even fully capacity) in 2016, orders stopped mid 2015, so its neither significant nor justifiable - although they only produced in 2016 because of delays in 2015! Anyway - you can account for 3 weeks but none you have explained how to explain your badges have the wrong county and area on them ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Not that I would ever do it
![]() ![]() ![]() but have you tried googling the Defender heritage, find a reg number and put it through an HPI. This should give you a chassis number and allow you to order at the dealer? |

HPI check wont give you a chassis number, It'll only allow you to input one to confirm it's correct, otherwise it'd be a surefire way to ring a car.
Why not ask another forum member who has one, either to order the part for you, or you lend you their chassis number! One big family and all that! |

Was Solihull not in Warwickshire up until 1974 and therefore appropriate at the time the vehicles were made?
Given the heritage is a copy-cat that makes sense. |

Don't the Heritages say "Solihull England"? So location isn't an issue on them?

I'm sure someone will start making 1948 / 2016 badges in due course . . . . and I think if they did exist, these would be quite correct on a 2016 built/registered vehicle. But that said, my Defender was built in 2015, so, I think the existing 1948 / 2015 badges would be correct and appropriate on a 2015 built / registered Defender . . . . . . Problem is, all this remains totally academic, as Land Rover Jaguar don't / won't sell me any 1948 / 2015 badges for my 2015 MY XS ! ! ! . . . and I keep missing the odd ones that apparently come up on ebay ! ! ![]() ![]() ![]() I do like the 2000000 badge above and wouldn't dream of trying to copy that on my XS . . . ![]() |

They started production in March 1948, which is less than half the year, so shall we now say they were made from 1947? Or should we only count full years and say 1949? OR SHOULD WE JUST USE THE ACTUAL DATES! |
