Always worth shopping around and offering a counter-quote...
A Plan are another D2.net site sponsor worth contacting... But ensure you discuss all mods with any insurer before getting their quote - some account for and others ignore, but you should declare everything to avoid potential issues in the event of a claim... The general opinion seems to be that run-of-the-mill insurers are not good with Defenders, particularly if you have modifications of any type from factory built specification. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Just insured my Wifies new (to her) Puma Soft Top conversion from a truck cab with Alloys etc with LV for just over £200 fully comp, foreign travel etc. I FULLY declared all mods, no problem, no sharp intake of breath
We've also insured a Soft Top converted from a 300TDi with them, again no problem. Chris 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black. |

I couldn't even get a quote because I had a Utility Station Wagon and the Direct Line computer said there was no such thing. Bizarrely I had spent 20 minutes on the phone to their commercial lot who knew what a USW was, but wouldn't insure me because I was not using it commercially A Plan for me.

I think we need a pole! no not the east european kind or invisible one where the polar bears and penguins live but a pole on who insures with who! your age or how long have you had a licence ! your mods! and more importantly the cost and have you had to make a claim and how good were they at sorting it out! ..so its not really a pole then its a bleeden survey Im 55 ,driving 37years with aviva, £235 F comp my2015 swb sw truck mods q release steering wheel rear bumpettes sports steering wheel! no claims yet!Thankfully
