Went with Halfords Extreme Brilliance bulbs - and they are very good, i did have Philips Vision Plus in the disco but when the bulb went replaced with super brilliance (extreme wasnt out then) and both are good but extreme is very good. Mike

I ordered a pair of Phillips X-treme Power bulbs yesterday, after reading good reviews.
Fitted upgraded ones a few years ago (I think they were Osram) in my last defender, and they did make a noticable improvement over standard, maybe an extra 20% on dipped. (Had spots for main so couldn't notice then). I remember getting in a mess with the headlamp screws / alignment at the time - but as I was close to a service I got them adjusted when it went in, so the screws are still a mystery to me. I was hoping someone would have shed some light (ahem) on them by now as I'll be fiddling with them again any day... |

Well i fell foul of it (something i didnt have a problem with on the v8 defender) so have no idea whats going on.
So no help to you, it didnt twist off and manual does say unscrew. (although the manual also says h7 bulbs!) Im sure aligning them before on a wall may be the way, but even that doesnt help really. Ill get mine checked either if it goes into the dealers for something or in 8 months at service time as it seems ok to me. Mike |
