110 Roof Rack
Hi

I've been considering a roof rack for a while. This appears to be quite a good price.

Has anyone got one of these? Are they any good?

Cheers ---------------------------------------------------------------

I have ordered one of mcb 4x4 found them on eBay but if you find them on Facebook they often give 20% off there eBay prices. Look good and make them to order so you can have have what you want. Only issue is wait I have been waiting for a couple of months now. Can't comment of quality yet but spoken to a couple of customers who are happy.

I can recommend the Mcb 4x4 roof rack. You can specify any design you want ie spot light mounting points and awning plate fixings. You do have to wait a few months tho as it is a one man band outfit and cant make them fast enough. Quality is good and will last longer than the truck its going on. Thumbs Up

If you think overland travel is too risky, order one of our special "get-you-home" Land Rover roof racks. They are also available for Land Cruisers and Jeeps and other offroad vehicles. These offroad roof racks incorporate a drone which is built into the longitudinal arms. The drone has a payload of 3.65 tons and an autonomous range of 372 km in still air at an altitude of 300m. This is more than enough to lift two people and a typically prepared overland 110 Land Rover Defender. Activating and flying the drone is done via an iphone app which links to Motion X gps and Gaia GPS apps and which can also fly you automatically to a preconfigured location. It's also handy if you're not overlanding but in the UK and you're stuck in traffic. Or just can't be bothered to drive to the pub. Or indeed back again. We are working on the next generation with NASA and currently ironing out some issues with the roof rack damping rubber which gets a bit warm on re-entry to the Earth's atmosphere. As you know, our roof racks are fully customised so if you want cameras mounting on the roof rack, to film your flight, give us a call and we will be happy to discuss it with you.

Thank for all the replies.

Are the mcb 4x4 ones the same as the mm-4x4.com ones then?

I am really tempted at that price and I am just waiting for approval from the financial controller before being able to order one.... ---------------------------------------------------------------

The mcb ones are made to order so can be to your spec. I have had additional fixing points for load tying and nearly went for removable sides but figured they probably sit in the shed until I need them and then I wouldn't be bothered to put them on Rolling Eyes

They are very helpful but as I say mine hast arrived yet so can't comment fully.

I've got an MCB full length rack on my 110. Got it second hand from Ebay so not sure how old it is but it is a very solid rack, very well made. Powder coat is peeling slightly in one or two places where it has took a knock in the past but that would happen with anything powder coated. I'd definitely recommend them.
