I currently have a split charging system and a winch fitted. only issue is that I can only have either the aux battery connected to the main battery or the winch, not both at the same time.
This is due because the LR positive battery clamp which which feeds the main power for the vehicle is unable to accept both the winch and aux cables, just not designed to do so. How have you guys done this, did you lob off the LR battery clamp and fit something which can connect mutiple cables? Bit nervous about doing this as there is not much slack on the LR main feed cables and I would assume a specialist tool will be needed to do the crimping of the cable due to the guage of the cable. thoughts, suggestions and photos welcome. I at home with the flue  so thought I would sort all those liitle bits which never get done out

Nope, run my winch off the main battery, was the way I set it up after reading pro's and cons of running a winch off either battery.
Yep have ring connectors on the winch cable I can get 1 on the battery clamp but not 2 connections, ie. for the cable to the split charge unit. |

I run my winch off the main battery - although in this i dont have a split charge, i would anyway.
but you can get both the winch and the split charge plugged in - especially with the ring connectors - its not the plastic cover that is causing you problems? Mike |

Something like this might help
Can get 4 large cables onto 8mm stud. Only problem is the 8mm stud gets close to battery box cover. So ensure you insulate underneath of cover and top of stud. If you have any problems locating those battery clamps give me a shout. If I remember when I go out will take a photo of some connections. HTH Brendan |

This is the connector which I have on the tail ends of the winch cables and the positive to the split charge system. MSE, Might not be called a ring connector sort of assumed it was called a ring connector. just cant get two of these onto the positive clamp of a 2010 puma as the clamp uses a method which does not facilitate adding addition connections to the clamp, you must have experienced the same, unless you have changed your clamp

Thats what i meant and you can get two of those on the positive terminal.
If you remove the red cover, trim it down fit a bolt - job done Mike |

Hi Tack, that is a copper tube terminal. You should be able to find two figures on it. Figures like 35-8 or 25-10. The first figure relates to cable size, i.e. 35 or 25mm2 cable. The second figure relates to ring diameter i.e 8 or 10mm. Believe tube terminals go from 6mm2 up to about 150mm2.
Twin batteries in our black 09 110 Click image to enlarge Main battery has various extra 35mm2 cable attached to it. Note have to trim the red cover to fit them on. Second battery has stud terminals on. Also note that the split charger relay is mounted upside down so it is easier to tighten up/inspect the contacts. In our red 110 we have the Genysis system whereas in the black 110 we have the IBS system. Whereas essentially they do the same thing there are some small differences.
Personally I prefer the IBS system over the Genysis system. I am convinced there is a soft ware glitch on the Genysis system as it a) does not like it when one of the battery goes low b) goes into a cycle of its starting menu at times. Prefer the audible warning on the IBS system when one of the battery goes low. Both systems allow batteries to be connected together HTH Brendan |

I can post a pic of mine in the next day or two but I have an adverc split charge which cost 70 quid and is bulletproof. IMO no need to spend hundreds on a split charge.
My winch positive is connected to my main battery, the winch earth is connected to the 2nd battery earth. |
