Thanks for posting hw. I like the reversing camera, that seems a neat installation, is it wireless/bluetooth or hard wired? Shame about the rear side windows & raised floor, as there seems no access to the space below! Also don't know why the mudflaps need bracing like that, although wish my 90 rear L/H had such a brace, it wouldn't have melted! 15 years is a long time, & we may all be driving around in driverless electric gizmo's by then!

Very very nice! You are a lucky man!
I've taken a liking to this colour since I saw several Heritages on the factory tour. But no Heritage Defender for me here in the Netherlands. The taxes make it ridiculously expensive (over 100.000 euro!). Do you know what brand the reversing camera is? It seems a lot better than my cheap Chinese one. |

Don't sell it in 15 years. Just move away from Hong Kong to Australia or elsewhere together with your truck. 
And then you finally also can reinstall the safari door window wiper and washer nozzle which they think you do not need in Hong Kong. It never rains there seemingly.  Not what I have seen there.

In Hong Kong, cars are categorised into various classes (this has been so for so many years even during the colonial era). Normal saloons, sport cars, SUVs are classified as "Private Car" while vans for goods carrying, like Toyota Hiace, Ford Transit, and even Mitsubishi FUSO Canter, as long as the overall weight with cargos are below 5.5 tonnes, are classified as Light Goods Vehciles. Of cox, there are also other classes like Medium Goods Vehicles, Heavy Goods Vehicles, Light Buses, Big Buses, Government Vehicles, Motorcycles, Articulated Vehicles, etc...
For diesel powered vehicles pre-Euro 6 standard, no private car licence can be granted. All Land Rover Defender powered by diesel are thus "Light Goods Vehicles". To make it a light goods vehicle, the goods compartment must be separated from the passenger compartment and must be with no windows and a flat floor. And all such vehicles must be equipped with reversing cameras due to poor visiability from behind. For the mudflap braces, I really duno why they are there. Dealer said they were about local requirements, which I am unsure about. That's why Defenders in Hong Kong (except those old petrol ones) are either hardtop, modified SW, utility wagon or pickups. |
