Hi Guys,
Suppose this is technical? I have got a Brownchurch Roof Rack which I want to use with the 200Tdi. The ladder which came with it however seems to be fitted to the passenger side as if you try and mount it on the drivers side the angle is a bit off. I can't put it on the passenger side or you will have to climb over the work lamp to get up to the top and the risk of it being lent on is too great! I plan to cut another notch in the bottom mount to effectively kick the bottom over and give the adjustment necessary. Is there any reason why they are all fitted on the passenger side rather than the drivers side? I assume its because of the interference from the spare wheel but mine is on the bonnet so no problems there. This is the type I have (but not my truck) Click image to enlarge Any thoughts or ideas welcomed as always! I have the same and fist thing is that the door opens to the right so will hit the ladder when open - not a good idea
so move the light to fit onto the top run of the ladder ... (I’ve also got some bracing bars to help the rack ) Simples ! Thanks Wyvern,
I don't have the spare wheel on the back and opening the door to its full extent with the ladder loosely hung off the gutter it didn't interfere. I may use it as justification for replacing the spot light with the rear wash wipe (which I never use anyway) and putting a scene light above the door in its place. The only thing which puts me off is that it obstructs view of the number plate which is more of an issue.
