Given her a clean....
Now I've definitely decided to keep the Defender, I've given her a celebratory clean.

Only mod so far are XS clear indicators. Brunel grille on order, and booked in to local classic car restorers to get the bodywork A1 end of March. Also planning to get Puma bonnet from Masai sprayed and fitted at same time, also an air con grille mount.

Dependent on funds, a JE stage 2 could be in on the cards... 2002MY Defender 90 H/T

Did you jet wash the chassis, outriggers, rear x member etc?

You're brave to wash it with a jet wash, reveals every single leak! Laughing 2016 D4 HSE

I gave it a thorough jetwash underneath and over the windscreen, doors and bulkhead in order to retest how leaky it was. I was pleasantly suprised that it was pretty much dry inside, front and also in the rear tub.

Eddie, tell me about it - I thought farmers were supposed to clean off the worst of the mud when they go off their fields onto the road.....not leave huge clods everywhere, which then turns the B roads into mud tracks.... 2002MY Defender 90 H/T

Don't suppose you've tried to use a jet wash in the middle of the fields though. Rolling with laughter

I can't really see how that would be feasible. IIRC, they should put 'danger mud on road' signs out though if it does get mucky and slippy.

It's a worrying time of year if your ridding on MT's of any sort this time of year, had a little bit of a slippy time yesterday. Shocked

They do have a duty to clear off the roads or prevent mud coming onto the road - round here you see massive clods from tractors on the roads for about 200m past field entrances. As a (fair weather only nowadays) biker I always sudder when I see the state of some of the roads round here....never mind oil or drain covers, you'd stand no chance when hitting mud covered roads at low temperatures...equally for cyclists. I'm sure it's getting worse. 2002MY Defender 90 H/T
