On my old sankey I fitted a pair of paddy hopkirk roof bars off a discovery and used a sheet of ply i had about for the lid,

Nope, not with bikes on, but I do have a modified Landy roof on my trailer. Usually I carry a Columbus Rooftop tent on it.
