Must admit we do not have the colour temperature of the Noldens on our website
 but like Jay Boy would expect 6,000+K
Fitting LED into the standard Defender side lights is ILLEGAL. All obligatory lights have to be type approved by law. The original sidelights are approved for a filament bulb only. To be legal you will have to change the complete original sidelight for an LED sidelight. Brendan |

They're chasing lumens primarily, so they'll be a fairly standard cool white around the 6000K mark. based on mine, I'd say you'll be fine with a pair of wipac/rdx/whoever LED replacement sidelights.

Mud stuff and boltonbits both do replacement LED light sets. I had some on a previous defender, top quality and a good light

I have the same issue and the same wish to fix it. The RDX are too yellowish so I've ordered the Wipac and will try them and tell you how I get on.

On one of our vehicles we are running a set of Vision X Headlights with halo type DRL plus a set of Nakatanenga DRL/sidelights
The Nakatananenga DRL looks almost identical to the traditional sidelight. The DRL in the Nakatanenga is a lot brighter then the DRL in the Vision X headlight! Another possibility? Brendan |

Noldens are 6000K? Does that mean they will be useless in the rain and wet bitumen? I recall that 6000K HIDs had this issue...
Are all LED headlights in the 6000K range? If so, maybe upgraded loom and crystal lenses will be the way to go? |

Both Noldens & Speakers are great in the rain far better than any Halogen set up (I've tested most)
Don't ask which I prefer  |

LEDs are most efficient at 6000k which is why most of them are. It's not as good for the human eye to process which is one of the trade-offs.

Can confirm from experience that my EVOs were the best lights ever for dark wet black asphalt driving. Better than my H4s and better than the HID/Xenon of our other car. The EVOs in those poor dark wet driving conditions were really lighting up the road. Nolden are only slightly cooler white than Speaker, minimal difference really.
