I have a SVX front end on my Ice edition. The SVX might not be to everyones taste (I like it) however you benefit from the additional spotlights (same units as the RRS). Basically more functional than the standard defender headlamp set up. While we are talking about defender evolution, the Puma does not need to bulge in the bonnet - it's all part of the way the car has changed (bulges, headlamps etc) - if Land Rover did not introduce changes we'd still have headlights in front of the radiator (I don't want to offend anyone with headlamps in front of the radiator) Galvanized chassis would be a great option (if implemented properly) |

Is it me or is that pretty much a svx (Euro spec) without the stickers and a different interior?
The problem with the above would be that it would cost them 10 times more to do all the design, legal stuff and paperwork than they would make selling a proper 'special edition'. As for a 'MOD spec'.... The Wolf 110s over 10 years ago cost over £30K each..... meaning they probably cost about £10K more than the top of the range back then meaning a new version would set you back about the same as the Black Pearl Limited edition Also remember 80% of these special editions are for the European market.... German Land Rover owners don't just buy them as work/ daily vehicles.... they are hard-core enthusiasts that are willing to pay the extra to have something different. For example... how many places in the UK sell Carbon fiber diff guards for £500: Or should I say who here will pay that much for one? Glyn |

What a good idea - I'd love a stripped down, low spec version to be available. I also agree that the 'special' offerings aren't special at all, more of a cynical marketing exercise. Clearly it's time for an all new Defender - bring it on! Cheers Rick. 1998 RR HSE 2007 RRS TDV6 2008 Defender 110 2015 Discovery Sport |

^^Agreed, bar the odd exception many Defender so called special additions over the years amount to no more than a few additional bits and bobs, a bit of fancy trim and a different paint job and that's it. Steve.

bonnet bulge also required for A/C fitted defenders, as the compressor sits higher than the engine

I'd love to see a another heritage special edition in the old colors . When i went to the dealership a month ago they said there wasn't one green land rover in the entire dealer network, i was gobsmacked . Also would be great if they could put a TDV6 or similar bigger engine. They used to put V8's in them ( my dad had one, went like a rocket ) so why not a TDV6 that would be "special" .

Can you imagine it, quiet and powerful. Cruise all day at motor way speeds ( most important when your trying to get to morocco and have to drive 600 miles on Spanish motorways ) I love my TD5 but you'd think a company that has all those engines would offer two choices in a defender. I'd buy one
