Me either... have been in the alps with -30 to -50 degC temps over the past 5 weeks and the only problem I had was the sticky central locking- never managed to lock me out though Glyn |

Similarily, no problems with indicators/wipers on my 90 XS. Could be the relay, BUT both switches are on the steering wheel cover ???? something in common ????

Oh! Guess I have the 90 that doesn't like the cold haha!
It's not a major issue, just one of them slightly irritating things I can put up with until there's a few more slightly irritating niggles that makes it worthwhile taking it back to the dealers. |

Warren, are you using the original wiper relay? I have upgraded to a VW "99" relay to get variable intermittence, and when it is really cold my wipers also go haywire - one you have started them wiping, you cannot stop them except by switching the ignition off (seems to work every time) or sometimes by blipping the washer. This didn't happen when to OE relay was fitted, but then again it wasn't that cold then. I am not sure if it a malfunction with the relay or with the park switch, although relay seems more likely.
It stops as soon as the cabin temperature starts to increase. |

Yeah it's still got the original wiper relay. They were fine this morning when I went out, despite it being freezing, the bottle of water left in the passenger footwell was frozen solid!
The indicators were still rebelling though... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oG1hB_mg9nQ |

My drivers door has refused to unlock via the fob on a few cold mornings last week. I've had the door card off myself to check and lubricate the locks, connecting rods and trim fit around the locking button. I just don't have time to do the 100 mile round trip to my nearest main dealer and get lumbered with some unsuitable courtesy car. Steve.

Has anyone else had to scrape ice from the inside of the windscreen?. The last couple of mornings I have had to do that. That aside all has been good this winter. 1963 Series 2A truck cab
