I've got three garages but they are full of mk1 golfs Mr. Green so I'm building an extra garage at some point behind my three to take two of the golfs then I've got to raise the entrance a bit to get the two defenders in Big Cry Ray

So, here are some pictures of Gracie, who lives in a garage, when she is not being enjoyed.
Sometimes it could be a couple of weeks before we use her, so she just sits in our garage. The sheets are just ordinary fleecy bedsheets sewn together by Wifey,...this "cover" is about 25+yrs old now,...it's been used on heaps of cars,...just keeps the dust off, ....& saves me washing.
A garage is very important in Aus,...I haven't got freezing temps/snow like you guys,....but I have got lots of 35-40C periods where the ultra hot sun can do a lot of damage to paint/trim, over a period.
Pickles.

I love Gracie's house and the way you get to molly coddle her Martin... Razz

I have never, ever, managed to keep any of my motors under cover, even when we have had a traditional 'English' sized excuse for a garage cum store cupboard... Rolling Eyes

Our current house had a decent sized double garage 5m x 5m, but the RRS (at the time) wouldn't fit... Big Cry

So we converted it into a large living room/garden room and our cars sit on the drive... Crying or Very sad

Next house is going to have a decent barn/cart lodge/huge garage or we don't move... Mr. Green

I need to make the point here that our garage is nothing special, we've just an ordinary 3 BR home about 15sq, most young people these days seem to start in houses 25 sq+!!
I know that things are different when Aussie & U.K. are compared,...but it really is "the norm" here for a house to have a garage, so what we've got is nothing out of the ordinary!!
But I really have to say again, that I really do admire you guys who, without a garage, work on your cars, in all manner of weather,......IMHO that is REAL dedication,...I don't think I'd be dedicated enough to do that.

Something indeed essential in Oz is that good size undercover garage!

SWMBO's car fits in nicely alongside too.

And when she is out, I can sit on the sofa and look at the Defender... planning the next upgrades!

Like the US and Canada you guys don't exactly have a problem with space to put a garage, and you can make one as big as you like.

Would you beleive it Pickles but over here, when they build new houses with a garage they don't make them big enough to put even a compact car in (and so you can open the doors etc) as apparently the trend is just to use the garage as a dumping ground for all manner of stuff, rather than house a car.

I had a 3 car open front garage at my last house, with enough height that the Defender went in perfectly, it was dry, fully lit, and I had a double garage sized workshop too with storage above the entire space. It was truly awesome and I miss it every single day Big Cry

RRUK, that looks VERY impressive, as do the contents.

Mate, having that MAGNIFICENT machine of yours sit out in the Aussie weather would not sit well with me, if it were mine!. Do you have plans to move, & so have a garage?
Regards, Martin.
