Parking in Oxford
Can anyone recommend any parking near the colleges in Oxford. SWMBO wants to visit the area in October. I have a 90, so height restriction of 2 metres or above is required. Will be staying for 3 to 4 hrs. Thumbs Up LANDYWATCH

I've never bothered and always just used the park and ride on the London Road which saves a load of hassle as Oxford is one of these places that seems intent on banning vehicles.

Best to get the park and ride in. Parking you will need to will the lotto.

Pear tree would be off the m4 from memory. I am sure I will be corrected by locals Rolling Eyes I could get my 90 in them when I was there but only could afford small wheels and Old suspension so may be a little lower than you.

P&R also. Use it quite often with SWMBO.

I live just out side Swindon (J16 M4), so if you're coming from Walesland, then i'd head down to J15, up the A419 North for a few miles and get the A420 straight to Oxford (about 40 mins from J15 M4 on a good day)

That'll take you to Botley roundabout, go straight over as if you're driving into Oxford, and there is a P&R on the left, called Seacourt. my 110 with external cage fits under the height barrier (just)

Busses every 10 minutes or so. much easier than trying to park in town.

Or head up the A34 to the next junction, and there's the Peartree P&R

Good to know you can fit in seacourt as visiting this weekend and was wondering myself. I just hope I can park at Adams park now

Found this regarding height restrictions.

Park and Ride Height Restrictions
Park and Ride sites do have height restrictions:
Water Eaton and Thornhill have a height restriction of 2.1 metres (6ft 11 inches)
Redbridge has a height restriction of 1.9 metres (6ft 3 inches)
Seacourt is 2.2 metres (7ft 3 inches)
Peartree is 2.3 metres (7ft 6 inches) LANDYWATCH

Yes use the P&R. Parking in town is a nightmare at the best of times, and very expensive. I often have to do deliveries there and its just awful trying to get parked anywhere. Don't expect to drive at more than about 15mph either as there are so many bottlenecks and traffic lights its unreal. 2011 110 USW

Another vote for the P&R, it's hassle free.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

I am looking at possibly using Redbridge. Does anyone know if the info given by council (1.9m as above) is accurate - because looking at street view I can see a 90SW in there, as well as a Disco3/4? and several transits or similar vans. But streetview is dated may 2012 so could be outdated (also no actual height mentioned on the entrance barrier opposite Go Outdoors. Maybe this is slightly higher?). I was looking at this entrance because there is a dedicated high sided vehicle parking area there, but I would be much happier mixing in with the other vehicles - hopefully it wouldn't shout "look at me" quite so much to the local lowlife.

I use the open air carpark next to the station - £7 for all day parking.

I'll bear that in mind if I'm looking for an alternative. Cheers.

Below is a screenshot from streetview which seems show a Defender in there? Main entrance is marked as 1.9m but the height barrier at the side entrance isn't marked.
