Personally I'd go nilfisk, I had one of the cheaper karcher pressure washers but they come with a plastic pump which is prone to splitting when it gets cold. Even the cheaper nilfisk washers have a metal pump Thumbs Up Ray

I too have a Nilfisk, can't fault it, better than the old Karcher i had.

Well worth a look, Sthil also stick their name on them. 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered.

Interesting thread, I was thinking of starting one too.

I too considered Karcher but decided against it in favour of Stihl.
Haven't heard much about Nilfisk, I think I may have noticed once though are they blue?

We could do with a small one sometime this coming year.

I'd be still inclined to go for Stihl but interested to hear about Nilfisk.

Aren't Nilfisk one of the better ones with ceramic pumps.
Both my Karchers have stainless steel pumps.

Nilfisk, and Sthil are the same thing.

Nilfisk make them, everyone stick their own name on them.
Says it all about their quality.

When I looked into getting one it was much Cheaper to get Nilfisk as they generally include a lot of extras, whereas Sthil you will have to pay extra.

The most common failure on the Karcher is the microswitch on the pressure sensor.
Always keep one in stock.

I've got a Nilfisk, I think it's a 115, cost me about £100 about 4 yrs ago and it's still going strong, gets plenty of use too. I think you pay for the name on Kercher

Don't be tempted by things like patio cleaner attachments....they don't work. Neither does the tank dispenser thing that you put patio cleaning fluid in.. Just go for one with a lance. The rest will go in the bin on day 2!!

I've found the patio cleaner attachment on my Karcher a really useful tool. Cleans slabs and flat areas in a fraction of the time with a lance.

We have one of these:
http://cpc.farnell.com/nilfisk-alto/c110-4...5-00001003
It's a Nilfisk 110. They last a couple of years of abuse before dying, and they're only £50+vat.
Before those we had Karcher ones of a similar size that didn't last as long.

Our main farm pressure washers are both Nilfisks too, but much bigger ones. One is about as big as you get a single phase one, the other is a three phase with diesel heating. Makes short work of defrosting windscreens Laughing
