Head light switch
Head lights are wired up via the new loom and power from the alternator. Work a treat and have done for the past eight months. Power is therefore no longer going through the steering column switch, which is good. The problem is however that the switch is now making a funny sound when you push it all the way forward, sounds like a wasp is trapped in the switch with the buzz it makes. I assume the head light switch is gubbed and needs replaced. It is best to buy the Lucas replacement or are the cheap ones ok ?

Cheers

Tank

Tank, seeing as the bulk of the current is no longer going through the main switch I don't see the need to buy the original Land Rover switch which I have seen listed at £135 to £155, and the Lucas switch is also not worth the extra money either, the Lucas switch I bought lasted just long enough for the 12 month guarantee to run out before it melted, now I paid £23 for 2 cheap switches, fitted one and done the loom modification (£10) and have a spare switch in the back just in case, the entire job to replace the switch takes less than 15 minutes, so, why pay silly money? Thumbs Up Optimists say the glass is half full..
Pessimists say the glass is half empty..
Engineers say the glass is twice the size it needs to be!
