Celebration Series Insurance
Not sure if this has been asked or covered but I would be interested to hear what Insurance companies will insure the Adventures series . My Adventurer 110 is due in Jan so have been ringing round to get some quotes . Currently with Direct Line but they tell me they have had a directive from their Head Office not to insure the Adventure model ( I think because of the roof rack and the snorkel ?) - I tried various team members and team leader but got the same answer. Then I rang Landrover Insurance , and they won't even quote without the reg number ! and they had no idea what an Adventure model was ! . I have also had insurance with A Plan in the past and they were very good and did get me a quote but had to use a Defender County 110 as the model with the retail value of the Adventure model .

I had the same issue in getting quotes for the Adventure model. Most companies defaulted to the XS or landmark. So to play it safe I went with Land Rover insurance (covered by AXA). I am relying on LR knowing what the Adventure model is... Quotes were comparable. I hope this helps.

Hi Treps - thanks for that although when I called Landrover Insurance the lady I spoke with had no clue about Defenders let alone the Adventure series. I also have wait for my reg number before they will quote.

I just found this post and I am also having trouble insuring my new Adventure - the reason is because the DVLA have listed them all as Vans so when you try get a quote they won't cover it, trying to insure as a Van doesn't work because it has 7 seats.

Currently trying to resolve with DVLA and JLR - currently I am uninsured and unable to drive my brand new £44k car!

I had similar issues. Confused

The challenge I had was that none of the 5 insurance companies I spoke to could find the Adventure model on their system. During my 9th call with Admiral (yes 9th sales person!) the lady was suddenly able to locate the Adventure 110. She said their system may have been only just updated.

The quote with Adventure 110 selected was significantly higher than XS TDCi selected (with Adventure mentioned in the notes) even though I gave the same invoice value.

FYI, the quote I got from Warranty Direct for gap insurance was much cheaper than what the dealer had to offer. Very Happy

Firstly try specialist insurance companies not the highstreet lot, they wont be covering you as you would want anyway.

Usually i would say Adrian Flux and similar, whilst they covered our new Defenders they wouldnt cover the new Range Rover and Discos a few years back due to value. But start there (also know that the mods, additions and off road cover is included)

If you want gap insurance, ALA is the best one going. However, GAP insurance is probably pointless on this car (unless you get back to invoice cash) as i would expect you want it back and would repair it...you cant replace it nor would i suggest you let them write it off. Also we found the defender value is so good that the benefit of GAP less, unlike the other 4 new cars we have! Mike

On the gap insurance, just worth noting that NFU include it for vehicles up to 2 years old.

What's everyone paying ? I also had problems and took the safe route of Land Rover insurance at just under £500. Will shop around again when the car's actually known!!

Remember "LR Insurance" is only a mainstream insurance company with LR's branding on it.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
2015 D90 XS SW

I insured my Heritage with LVI in December.
As they did not have a Heritage on their system they listed it as a 90TDI SW
I phoned them today to ask them to check if the Heritage was now on their system now
It is.....
But they advised their was a premium adjustment...............
£17 back to me!!!
Amazing - the Heritage is cheaper than the standard Defender, especially as its an appreciating asset!! Wanted a Defender for 30 years - now own the best - A Heritage

2015 90 SW Heritage
2014 RR Sport
2014 RR Evoke
