Genuine Land Rover Defender door hinges are £35.77 inc of VAT per hinge.
there are two types of hinge one type up to up to VIN VA138479 and one type from VIN WA138480 Rimmer Bros sells them but you could drop a PM to a site sponser Duckworth parts to see if you can get a discount on four hinges http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID010598 Duckworth parts http://www.defender2.net/forum/duckworth-parts-vf37.html For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Thanks I'll do that. I think genuine will be the best option - i'm so disappointed with the ones i received today. |

I have the same issue on my 2010 110 DC.
That means my original genuine ones have only lasted 6 years, and I was hoping that there was something better available than "genuine" which are clearly not much better than the Allmakes ones. I dont want to spend an absolute fortune. What can I do? |

I have seen a few people have drilled and tapped standard ones to take a grease nipple.
What is the failure mode on the hinges? A couple of mine are nadgered and I'm wondering if it's possible to rebuild them at all? I haven't had a chance to pull them off yet! |

^ now they are nice, and the matching complementary s/s accessories are too!
I've seen these fitted in the flesh and there are a few in here who can tell you what they are like to live with. Probably worth the additional expense and the attention to detail relating to gaskets and Tef Gel (or equivalent!) |

They look alright and I might be tempted if I knew the pins weren't going to wear like the originals.
Anyone have any experience? |

I have a set of these on mine, plus the matching bonnet hinges. They're not cheap, but they are top quality. Nice solid feel to them. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |
