Retro Fit Central Locking Defender
Hi
Just purchased a Hawk central locking kit to retro fit to my Defender 90 year 2000. Before i start is it a easy enough job to do and is there anything i should watch out for ?.

Thanks

It's all pretty straight forward, just use common sense. I did mine in a leisurely half day apart from the rear door which as mine is a 2002 model with the one piece door is slightly more involved with the logistics of the way the lock is actuated.
One thing I have added over the years since I fitted mine was to run the wires from the doors to the pillars through convoluted tubing as the Hawk ones also suffer from the factory fitted ones with broken wires from the flexing actions of opening and shutting the doors.

The only problem I forsee is that we'll have two fobs, one for the CL and another for the alarm we have installed.
