Hi Ecco,
you mean one like this?

You will need to cut six 6 mm threads into the windscreen frame to fit it, but otherwise it is a simple assembly job. If you want to adjust the angle and position, then you need to modify the side plates or use spacers and longer bolts.

I bought mine from Vosca (vosca.nl) in Holland, but I noticed that a German supplier called Cornett has them as well. 1998 Tdi 90 SW,

On a slightly more serious note, do they help keep the interior cooler on hot sunny days? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Is the question directed at the sun visor, the snorkel, the lights on the roof, the LEDīs, the Recaros, the wheels, tyres or maybe the need for a Defender at all, in this day and age...... Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

It does a class job of keeping the sun out of your eyes, whilst still giving you a full view in front of you (far better than the internal visor). Keeps snow and ice off the screen.

In my humble view, it complements the Defenderīs rugged looks.

Remarkably thereīs no wind noise, but I expect the fuel consumption suffers.....

Do I care.......no Thumbs Up

Does it help to keep the vehicle cooler on hot days.....more than likely. 1998 Tdi 90 SW,

..thanks guys..

@Wild Card 90
..yes, this one will do..but it seems, i need to drill body frame to fix it? If so, then i cant use this one due warranty(warranty is void even if i change speakers, which are crappy by the way)..ehh..is there anything like this which is fixed like roof rack...

Yes, the screen frame has to be drilled and threaded.

It wouldnīt be a great deal of work to modify it to be clamped onto the frame, but common sense makes me want it to be bolted in place. There are enough examples of roof racks, ski boxes and bike racks letting go when they shouldnīt. The insurance issue is additional matter.

In KL, you must have the strictest warrenty anywhere in the world, or youīve found some JLR smallprint that most of us havenīt read.

As far as the speakers go, the performance of the standard set up (four 10" and two tweeters) will surprise you if you simply add an active subwoofer bolted (if your warranty allows Sad ) on to the back of the cubby box.

Plenty of options discussed in the appropriate threads on this marvelous forum. 1998 Tdi 90 SW,

..well..there is a plenty of 'magic' going on here...for example, import tax for foreign vehicles here is 300%...buy 3 and drive one..or situation where official LR service center here, wanted me to pay 22500 RM for power steering box, for my P38..crazy..thanks to them, i learn every single screw in my P38, which is not pure poetry to drive and enjoy, of course because DIY..

You awoke my curiosity about Land Rover in Maylasia, and google came up with the attached - an interesting article about the large numbers of Land Rovers there.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/fe...graveyard/

So let me get this straight... you canīt upgrade your speakers without breaching your new car warranty, while the local farmers run around in Series pickups held together with.......well just about anything they can find on the roadside on the way to the workshop? 1998 Tdi 90 SW,

..they were very specific..anything related to electronic/electric, cant be touched/changed in car or warranty is void..i did ask particularly for speakers, and answer was no, cant be modified...so i guess ill just have to ride it trough until warranty expires..

A strip of tinted window film would do the same job at a fraction of the cost. Steve.

Thatīs extrordinary! The speakers are actually the last point to change.

Add subwoofer, then change head unit, and only then the speakers.

But thatīs just my humble opinion. 1998 Tdi 90 SW,

Actually, a sun strip will only do the same job as the internal sun visors. But you need to sit in a Defender with the external visor to appreciate how effective it is.

The said visor was fitted to my previous TD4 by the first owner, together with the Clim-air thingys on the side windows. I didnīt get on with those at all, but quickly appreciated how well the front visor works. It probably wouldnīt go down so well if the driver sits high in the cabin - as is often the case with seat runner extensions....

I put a strip of black vinyl on my screen, because I found that the sun visors were often to deep.
