Wasn't the old adverts catchphrase years ago, "Don't be vague, drink Haig"? It seems to ring a bell in the dark corners of my memory.

You have an excellent memory. Not only did they have that catchy phrase - they also had a unique dimpled glass bottle

The distillery was/still is at Cameron Bridge which produces large volumes of grain spirit - now under the global company DIAGEO. They also had a bottling plant at Markinch which was closed a few years ago.

That Beckham advert verges on the bizarre - drinking whisky from a blue bottle mixed in with driving a Defender

So will anyone be keeping a wee bottle in their cubby box ?
C'mon , join the "club "

I do have an emergency bottle of Grouse in mine. On a recent trip to a very wet and cold Wales, it was a really welcome addition to lunchtime coffee.

I'm beginning to see the connections - wonder which is more palatable and which will be in fashion a decade from now?

Wonder whether Blue Stratos or Haig Whisky would offer the better base for am alternative form of fuel for a Defender?
