Here are some pictures of a small restoration/refurb of a 1984 Land Rover 127.
New Marslands chassis, galvanised bulkhead, 300TDI conversion and conversion to LHD. Have not done much work to the body, just a quick and dirty respray.. From a distance it didn't look too bad: ![]() Click image to enlarge Taking it apart: ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Chassis is bad: ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge So we fitted a nice Marsland galvanised chassis: ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Body back on: ![]() Click image to enlarge Galvanised bulkhead: ![]() Click image to enlarge 300TDI and R380 instead of the 3.5 v8 ![]() Click image to enlarge Respray in Dark Bronze Green, a series colour but we think it looks nice on this 127. We've painted the roof in Ral 1015, almost the same as the original Limestone: ![]() Click image to enlarge Finished (it only needs LImestone wheels) ![]() Click image to enlarge[/img] |

Nice. I have one question - why have you left the chassis without any coating/protection, just with the galvanizing? "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "BlufĂnek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo

Hi, most of the time we don't coat a galvanised chassis. Most of our customers like the galvanised look and it saves a few hundred euro's if we don't coat it. It really doesn't need any coating.

Also love those early square-bottom 127 doors!

Because petrol costs around 7.50 dollars per gallon here in Holland and diesel is less than 5 dollars a gallon
