VW Touareg
Anyone got any experience of owning a current shape VW Touareg? Been looking at them they look like a serious big 3.0 diesel luxury SUV for 15-20k less than an X5 and maybe 20-25k less than a RRS. Fancy a high driving position as a daily driver again as well as the defender. Had 3x Disco 3/4s so not inclined to go back there particularly. 2001 Td5 CSW (weekend and snow mobile) Plenty of lights, M/T tyres EGR delete, roofrack, swing away wheel carrier, snorkel.

France 2007 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Santorini Black
I had one for a couple of years.
At the time I thought it probably one of the most complete/best cars I had had?(& I've had quite a few).
That was until I got a FFRR,there really is nothing to compare.
Just my two penneth.
Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2005 Defender 90 Td5 SW Tonga Green
I have the lower powered V6 3.0 at 205hp and owned it for just over three years now. I have to say it is the best family car I have ever owned, very comfortable and plenty powerful.

A friend has the 262hp R line with the variable height suspension.

I go skiing each year and until I got my defender 2 years ago the Touareg was my shoot vehicle. Fitted with Wintrac Extreme tyres it was formidable off road.

Wouldn't hesitate in recommending one.

England 1999 Defender 110 300 Tdi DCPU Tonga Green
My dad has got his in march as a MY15 and he let me take it for a spin the other day. Much better than his old one (MY05), It feels much lighter to drive on twisty country roads yet still has the big car feel. Its also not to shabby off the lights with it being 260bhp which once again is much better than his old one.

He's returning around 32MPG mixed driving which i think is fairly good for the relative luxury that you travel in.

All round brilliant motor and i wouldn't hesitate going for a look at one when the bank account allows.
