Defender is my work tool so out in it 5 to 6 days a week if it's a family outing might take the D4 or the family pool Renault Clio Thumbs Up

Defender is first choice unless it's a long journey or need more than two seats. Only other issue is that I don't take it anywhere I have to leave it parked up, in case it gets nicked... Confused

Yes, Defender every day. It's the only road going car I have, other than the Zonda* of course. I did drive a Smart for seven years and a mighty fine car it was too, if I didn't need the lugging skills of the Defender I'd get another one. I did my longest one day drive in the Smart, 900 miles, and it did it without any problems what-so-ever.

* I haven't got a Zonda.

I drive mine every day. It is a very unusual event if my 110 doesn't turn a wheel.

I do currently about 13k miles a year commuting only and then an additional 7-8k a year on just weekend and evening running about odds and sods so about 20k miles a year in my 200Tdi

Next year however I'm hoping to move so my commute will be 19k a year so once I add in odds and sods I reckon I will be doing nye on 28k a year next year?

Cannot wait Cool

The Td5 however has only done about 2k since I bought it in September so it may be moving on soon Rolling Eyes Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

The SVX more often than not, summer and winter, stays put in a heated well ventilated garage, or under the carport. In winter it can be there for weeks at length, and if there would be salt on the road, it will stay put if necessary even longer until after the rain will have washed all the salt away, and the rain itself has evaporated too. Laughing

Winter and summer I use three alternative transports, the last two very typical for Geneva...

1. The Mrs. Beetle...

2. But even more often these Diesel or electric people carriers...

3. And last but not least, and even in winter...

That is, if it does not get a flat tire, because then the insurance treats it like this here. Whistle Laughing

Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

I was going to buy one as a third car.. however I've seen what happens with this approach and one never gets used yet still costs for servicing, tax etc.

So a few month ago swapped and Auto everything, buttons everywhere Mercedes for my Defender.

So far I don't miss the Merc at all Smile

Its been my daily driver, weekend cruiser and already holiday hauler Smile ACE Very Happy

Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.

Most weeks I'll use it for a day. I have a long boring motorway commute, for which I prefer to use something easy to drive and that does 50mpg!! The defender is way more fun though, and gets used for camping/going away/lugging etc.
Having said that, I'm driving it to work until the weekend as the hatchback battery is on it's way out and only just started this morning!

Yes, my daily drive also. Has been for years. However, I do sometimes drive my wife's car. Short journeys to the shops etc. 2002 110 td5

Snap again

I use the 90 most days unless I've got substantial miles to do and thats only because I want to keep it for the long term, even so I've managed to clock up 10k in her this year, the D4 and the Evoque will both get replaced every 3yrs.
