I work in the Marine industry and every engineer carries two main things. An adjustable wrench (usually Bahco) and a torch. These two items are generally excessively used and can quite often get abused, lost or lent out and forgotten. I lost mine in the bilge and borrowed one from a mate. I was so impressed I ordered one today. At 220 lumens, not much bigger than a pen and with an aluminium body and discreet magnet in the clip it gives hands free operation in confined areas if you've something it will stick to. I was impressed and thought I'd share.

Hmmm SMD LED's again, looks good so can easily see it bring a good performer.

Bought one of these recently off the back of this thread, am very pleased with the performance of the torch and the build quality. The problem is that I keep it clipped into the ruler pocket on the leg of my work trousers, but because the on/off switch is not recessed it keeps getting switched on by accident in my pocket and draining the batteries.
Oh well will just have to try and keep it elsewhere, just that it is handy there as its always quickly to hand along with my voltstick. |
