Spotted on good BookFace...
Sometimes the good old boys & girls do commendable things for charity... And - Courtesy of an ITV News item... Sean Bean donates personalised Land Rover for Sheffield United cancer auction Sean Bean is a lifelong Sheffield United fan Credit: Press Association A cancer charity in Sheffield says they are 'overwhelmed' after film and television star, Sean Bean, donated his personalised Land Rover for an auction. Sheffield United, who Bean is a massive fan of, asked the Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones star to provide an item for a gala dinner the Blades are organising to raise funds for the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity. They say they were 'stunned' when he donated his 1973 green Land Rover, which has been ‘personalised’ with his signatures and self-penned Blades motifs, for auction at the event at the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire’s Chatsworth House stately home on Sunday. The 1973 Land Rover has been personalised by Bean Credit: Weston Park Cancer Charity "When we made the request to Sean we anticipated getting some signed memorabilia, never did we imagine that Sean would provide his very own Land Rover. It is a remarkable gesture by Sean." – DAVE MCCARTHY, SHEFFIELD UNITED Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity is the dedicated charity for the Sheffield-based hospital and supports cancer research and to improve the treatment and care for people living with cancer. Nice one - although I think personalisation falls in a different category to those specing an AB!
I hope it goes to a good home. What's he going to replace it with? You can see it and bid for it online also: "However, bids can also be made online in the lead-up to the event. The Land Rover, following clean-up, is on show at Club sponsors John Holland. The prestige car specialists –will display it at their showroom at Meadowhall Riverside, Sheffield where visitors can see it at first hand and decide if they wish to make a bid or register their interest to Mr McCarthy by emailing dave.mccarthy@sufc.co.uk or calling 0114 253 7200." http://www.wphcancercharity.org.uk/sean_be...vent_.html |
