Advice on alloys please
Hi all,

I am looking to get some new alloys for my Defender 90HT, but I am on a bit of a budget.

I have read some posts that highlight the potential pit falls with some cheaper alloy wheels, but as I am new to owning a Defender I have no experience of what to look for.

Can anyone suggest a good option for prices under the £200+ per wheel that LR offer.

Ideally an anthracite or matt black in a boost style, but anything considered.

Thanks in advance.

Are you going to be needing new tyres too, on top of the sub £800 wish list, Might want to give Rich at LRI a call.

Hi,

I guess in reality I will need to allow for tyres on top if going the new route.

Originally I was looking at the ones from the likes of Craddock and other online stores etc which do seem to come in complete with tyres for around that type of money.

Cheers.

I can recommend 4x4 tyres, they do great deals on non genuine alloys. I have a set of their black sawtooths. They're awesome. You could get those and new tyres in your bracket, depending on what tyres, or for £225 a corner get the new lovely BF Goodrich AT KO2 pattern

Check the 'For Sale' section of the forum and there are regular postings offering almost new 'Take Offs'. Alloy wheel rims with tyres that may only have travelled 200 yards before the owner decided to buy fancier ones. Some great deals and painting a set of 'Boosts' black isn't difficult or expensive. You might get the rims and tyres for the price of a set of rims from a dealer?

Hi Chaps,

Thanks for all the advice and offers.

I will not be in a position to get anything until into the new year, hence me asking for advice on what to look out for.

As above, I will keep my eyes on the For Sale etc and thanks for the PM's, very much appreciated.

Cheers for now.
