Having had to pull another delivery van off the grass beside the drive into the farm with a tractor last night I'm toying with the idea of marking the edge of the drive with a few solar powered lights, the type that come with a stake or spike to stick them in the ground. I've seen plenty of cheapo examples about which don't seem to stay functional for too long so would appreciate recommendations for something more reliable. Steve.

if no one comes up with a suggestion, you could always put reflectors on sticks down your drive.

My parents have had one get stuck on the bollards they put on the driveway to stop delivery drivers driving on the verges. Didn't do the bumper much good
Edit: when I say bollards, I mean logs. |

I've got those sort of bollards on the corners too
I admit that I felt sorry for the lad, it was his first time here and I got the impression that he had not been in the job for long. Good thing I had a nice big LED torch to use that was left behind by the last one that got stuck Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. I had thought of that but would really like something that will be obvious should the driver decide to reverse all the way into the place like the lad last night. I don't really want to install mains right down the drive so thought solar would be ideal, but there appears to be quite a lot of poorly made gear about. Steve. I've bought stuff from the Mr Beams website. Motion triggered Wireless LED kit.
It's not solar but the fittings I've got run on 4 big conventional batteries (C or D) and are still going fine after a year. Good solid quality and being LED they're good and bright. No connection etc.. 2003 Td5 110 Hardtop Now a 2013 110 USW too. |
